Named after the mythical “wish-fulfilling divine tree” from Indian mythology, Kalpavriksha Welfare Society embodies the promise of abundance, hope, and fulfilled aspirations for vulnerable communities.

Kalpavriksha Welfare Society was born from a grassroots response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Kalpavriksha Welfare Society represents the resilient spirit of Darjeeling’s people. What began as an informal collaboration of local change makers officially registered as a non-governmental organization on May 24, 2022, under the West Bengal Act XXVI of 1961.
