About Campaign
Kalpavriksha Welfare Society provides annual pension support to underprivileged senior citizens in Darjeeling who lack adequate financial resources or family support. Your contribution directly funds these one-time payments that help elderly community members meet basic needs and maintain dignity in their later years.
Join us in honoring those who built our communities. Your support doesn’t just provide financial assistance—it recognizes the dignity and worth of every elder who has contributed to Darjeeling’s rich heritage
Purpose of the Campaign
Many elderly residents in Darjeeling’s communities have spent lifetimes working in tea gardens, as porters, or in other physically demanding occupations without access to retirement benefits. Now in their golden years, they face significant challenges:
- Limited or no regular income sources
- Minimal government support that fails to cover basic needs
- Declining physical ability to earn supplementary income
- Increasing medical expenses due to age-related conditions
- Isolation as younger generations migrate for employment
Through this campaign, Kalpavriksha Welfare Society aims to provide financial dignity to these senior citizens through a structured pension program that acknowledges their lifetime contributions to our community while addressing their current vulnerabilities.
Goal of the Campaign
We aim to raise ₹300,000 to provide one-time pension support to 30 underprivileged senior citizens in Darjeeling district. This includes:
- Identifying elderly individuals facing severe economic hardship
- Providing ₹10000 support payment to each beneficiary
- Creating community connection networks for identified seniors
- Documenting their life stories and traditional knowledge
- Linking eligible seniors with government welfare schemes
How the Fund Will Be Used
Direct Pension Payments (80%)
The majority of funds will go directly to senior citizens, providing ₹3,000 per person to help with necessities like food, clothing, medicine, and housing repairs before the challenging winter months.
Community Support Programs (10%)
Resources to organize health camps, nutritional support, and social gatherings that address the holistic needs of elderly community members beyond financial assistance.
Documentation and Advocacy (5%)
Preservation of traditional knowledge and life stories from seniors, creating an intergenerational bridge while advocating for improved government support systems.
Administrative Support (5%)
Essential coordination costs including identifying genuine beneficiaries, verification processes, and documentation to ensure transparent fund distribution.
