About the Event
Gundri Bazar is a 13-day entrepreneurship festival celebrating local crafts, traditional skills, and innovative business ideas from across Darjeeling’s communities, featuring workshops, exhibitions, and networking opportunities.
Purpose of the Event
Kalpavriksha Welfare Society is organizing Gundri Bazar to address the economic challenges faced by local artisans and craftspeople in Darjeeling. By creating a platform that bridges traditional skills with modern entrepreneurship concepts, we aim to revitalize cultural heritage while generating sustainable livelihoods.
Goal of the Event
- Empower 100+ local artisans and entrepreneurs with business development skills
- Showcase Darjeeling’s unique cultural crafts to over 2,000 visitors
- Facilitate market connections between local producers and potential buyers/retailers
- Document and preserve traditional crafting techniques through interactive demonstrations
- Inspire youth engagement in entrepreneurship through success stories and mentorship
